3M™ 101E Masking Tape

3M 101E masking tape is a general-purpose crepe paper tape. It is the basic tape of the workshop and the site: routine paint masking, protection, marking and temporary holding.

Specifications

• Backing: crepe paper.
• Widths: from 9 to 100 mm, plus 200 and 405 mm.
• Lengths: 45 or 50 m rolls.
• Log rolls: 1,610 mm wide, in 50 or 200 m, for cutting.

The everyday tape

The 101E tears by hand, sticks to most clean surfaces and comes off without residue when not left in place too long. It is used to mask before air-drying paint, protect a surface during work, hold a cover or paper, mark and label.

A wide choice of widths

From 9 mm for details to 100 mm to cover a wide strip, and up to 200 and 405 mm to protect surfaces in a single pass. The 1,610 mm log rolls are for users who cut their own widths.

Its limits

It is a general-purpose tape, for paint that dries at room temperature. It is not suitable for parts going into an oven, or for masking that stays in the sun for several days. For these uses: 3M 501E for high temperature, 3M 2090 for clean removal after several days.
