Collection: Two-Component Adhesive

A two-component adhesive combines a resin and a hardener mixed at the time of use. It does not dry, it reacts: it therefore cures in depth, in confined spaces and without shrinkage. That is what makes it the family of structural bonding, the kind that takes a load.

Three chemistries, three uses

Epoxy gives the highest mechanical strength and temperature resistance. It is rigid, needs careful surface preparation and sets slowly. It is the choice for heavily loaded assemblies.

Acrylic builds strength within minutes and tolerates less well prepared surfaces, including slightly oily ones. Its smell is strong. It is the choice for production rates and parts straight from machining.

Polyurethane stays flexible. It absorbs movement instead of transmitting it, which makes it better between two materials that do not expand the same way.

The mix ratio is not indicative

An excess of hardener does not make it cure faster: it leaves unreacted molecules in the joint and lowers final strength, sometimes dramatically. Dual cartridges with a static mixing nozzle remove this risk and save time.

If mixing is done by hand, it must be complete: a poorly mixed area stays soft, and that is always where the joint fails.

Preparation decides the result

When a bonded assembly fails, the break almost always occurs at the interface between adhesive and substrate, not within the adhesive. Degrease, abrade, degrease again, with a clean single-use cloth. On aluminium, apply the adhesive quickly after preparation: the oxide layer reforms within minutes.

Quand peut-on solliciter l'assemblage ?
