Stik MS60 hybrid adhesive sealant: high-performance bonding and sealing
The Stik MS60 is a hybrid adhesive sealant that bonds and seals in a single application. Ideal for professionals who want a solid result without compromise.
Its MS polymer formula offers exceptional adhesion on most surfaces: metal, wood, concrete, PVC. Even in difficult conditions.
Flexible after drying, and resistant to vibrations and weathering: it is the reliable choice for your construction sites and industrial assemblies.
What is the Stik MS60 hybrid adhesive sealant?
The Stik MS60 is a hybrid adhesive sealant based on MS Polymer (Modified Silicone). It provides both structural bonding and durable sealing on a very wide range of materials.
One single product replaces multiple references. No more juggling between silicone sealant, polyurethane adhesive, and bonding primer.
MS Polymer technology: between silicone, polyurethane, and epoxy glue
MS Polymer is a hybrid technology that combines the best attributes of three product families:
- Silicone: flexibility, resistance to UV and weathering, temperature resistance
- Polyurethane: mechanical strength, adhesion on porous and non-porous surfaces
- Epoxy glue: structural cohesion, load-bearing capacity
Result: Stik MS60 bonds without a primer on metal, wood, concrete, PVC, glass, and composites. It remains elastic after polymerization, which absorbs vibrations and thermal expansion.
Unlike conventional silicone sealants, it is paintable and does not release acetic acid. Unlike polyurethanes, it does not yellow and is more resistant to UV rays outdoors.

| Product | Technology | Isocyanates | Elongation at break | UV resistance | Main usage |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Stik MS60 | Hybrid MS Polymer | None | > 400% | Excellent | Multi-surface bonding + sealing |
| Standard polyurethane sealant | 1K Polyurethane | Present | 200-350% | Average (yellowing) | Bodywork joints, construction |
| Neutral silicone sealant | Silicone | None | 400-600% | Very good | Sanitary sealing, glazing |
| Sika Flex-11 FC+ | 1K Polyurethane | Present | ~600% | Good | Structural bonding, marine |
The Stik MS60 stands out for its safety profile regarding isocyanates, while maintaining high mechanical strength. It is a consistent choice for demanding environments where operator safety matters as much as performance.
Areas of application: which materials and jobs to use the MS60 for?
The Stik MS60 bonds and seals on a wide range of surfaces, without primer in most cases. This is one of its major advantages on the job site.
It adheres to common building and industrial materials: concrete, brick, stone, wood, metal (steel, aluminum, stainless steel), PVC, polyester, and most rigid plastics.
Its resistance to UV rays and weathering makes it particularly suitable for outdoor applications: cladding, joinery, facades, glazing, or roofing joints.
Indoors, it is used for fixing panels, baseboards, profiles, or for filling gaps between materials with different expansion rates thanks to its permanent flexibility.
Examples of typical jobs:
- Installation of metal or composite cladding
- Bonding of aluminum or PVC joinery
- Sealing of facade and roof joints
- Fixing of sandwich panels in industry
- Assembly of wood-metal structures
- Bodywork and commercial vehicle joints
MS60 is not suitable for greasy, powdery, or non-degreased surfaces. Prior surface cleaning remains essential to guarantee hold.
Stik MS60 vs other hybrid adhesive sealants: comparative table
Comparison with polyurethane, silicone, and other MS polymers
The adhesive sealant market is full of different technologies. Here is how the Stik MS60 positions itself against the main alternatives.
| Feature | Stik MS60 (MS hybrid) | Polyurethane (PU) | Silicone | Standard MS polymer |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Multi-surface adhesion | ✅ Excellent | ✅ Good | ⚠️ Limited | ✅ Good |
| Isocyanates (health/safety) | ✅ Isocyanate-free | ❌ Contains isocyanates | ✅ Isocyanate-free | ✅ Isocyanate-free |
| Paintable | ✅ Yes | ✅ Yes | ❌ No | ✅ Yes |
| UV resistance | ✅ Excellent | ⚠️ Average | ✅ Excellent | ✅ Good |
| Weathering resistance | ✅ Very good | ⚠️ Average | ✅ Very good | ✅ Good |
| Odor upon application | ✅ Low | ❌ Strong | ⚠️ Acetic (vinegar) | ✅ Low |
| Tensile/shear strength | ✅ High | ✅ High | ❌ Low | ⚠️ Average |
| Compatibility with sensitive plastics | ✅ Yes | ⚠️ Variable | ⚠️ Variable | ✅ Yes |
Polyurethane offers high mechanical strength, but its isocyanates require strict precautions in the workplace. Silicone cannot be painted and sticks poorly to many surfaces.
Standard MS polymers are similar to Stik MS60, but generally show lower tensile performance. Stik MS60 combines the best of both worlds: mechanical strength of PU and climatic durability of silicone, without their drawbacks.
This is particularly decisive for outdoor applications or in confined spaces, where operator safety and durability are non-negotiable.
Application tips and safety precautions
Before any application, thoroughly clean and degrease surfaces. Dust, oil, or residual moisture reduce adhesion and compromise long-term hold.
Cut the cartridge nozzle at 45° for a regular bead. Apply Stik MS60 at a temperature between +5°C and +40°C to ensure proper cross-linking.
The product vulcanizes with ambient humidity. Too low a humidity level slows down drying; in a very dry environment, lightly dampen the surface before application.
Smooth the bead immediately after application, before the surface film forms. Open time is generally 5 to 15 minutes depending on ambient conditions.
Essential precautions:
- Wear nitrile gloves: the uncured product can irritate the skin.
- Work in a well-ventilated space; avoid prolonged inhalation of vapors.
- In case of eye contact, rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- Store the cartridge away from heat and moisture, between +5°C and +25°C.
- Carefully close the nozzle after each use to prevent clogging.
Uncured residue can be removed with solvent (acetone, white spirit). Once cured, Stik MS60 no longer dissolves: remove excess mechanically.
Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) available from Dagobert Industrie before any professional use.
