3M Xtract™ Cubitron™ II 710W Mesh Sanding Disc

3M Xtract Cubitron II 710W is a net sanding disc combining two 3M technologies: the Xtract mesh backing, for virtually dust-free sanding, and Cubitron II precision-shaped ceramic grain, for a leading cut rate.

Specifications

• Mineral: Cubitron II precision-shaped ceramic grain.

• Grits: from P60 to P320.
• Diameters: from 34 to 225 mm, including 76, 127, 150, 152 and 203 mm.
• Pack sizes: single, 25, 50 or 100 depending on the reference.

The compromise removed

Until now you had to choose: a net disc extracts well but cuts moderately, a ceramic disc cuts fast but clogs if poorly extracted. The 710W brings both together. The mesh removes dust across its whole surface, keeping the grain clear; the ceramic grain fractures continuously and stays sharp.

3M draws two benefits from this: more parts finished per disc, and fewer disc changes.

Applications

Stripping, parting line removal, shaping, smoothing, scratch repair and surface preparation. On composites, wood, primers, fillers and metals, and wherever dust is a health or quality issue.

Choosing grit and diameter

P60 and P80 for stripping and shaping, P120 to P180 for levelling and preparation, P220 to P320 for finishing before primer. 150 mm fits most random orbital sanders; 225 mm is for wall and ceiling sanders; small diameters for mini touch-up sanders.
