The number indicates capacity. \u003cstrong\u003eP1 to P3\u003c\/strong\u003e cover particles.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA particle filter stops no gas, and a gas filter stops no particles. The \u003ca href=\"\/en\/products\/vapor-filter-6059-3m\"\u003e3M 6059 filter\u003c\/a\u003e, type ABEK1, covers four families of gases and vapours at once.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eSeal and maintenance\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA mask only protects if it seals on the face. A beard, even of a few days, prevents the seal from bearing and makes the protection illusory.
